Dear Owners,
To avoid increased Strata Fees due to incorrect sorting of Garbage, please follow the City Guidelines.
The City of Richmond recently completed an audit of the recycling carts at 10200 4th Ave. The audit identified several instances of recycling contamination, where items were placed in the incorrect recycling carts.
Recycle BC can levy extra fines if the contamination continues!
Help us keep Strata Fees under Control!
We are asking all residents to please take extra care when sorting and disposing of recyclable materials. The City has specifically identified issues involving items such as flexible plastic packaging, non-packaging plastic, non-packaging glass, lids, paper packaging, and other materials being placed in the incorrect carts.
Please Remember
- Glass Bottles & Jars Cart: Only glass bottles and jars should be placed in this cart. Lids should be removed and placed in the Mixed Containers Cart.
- Mixed Containers Cart: Please ensure only acceptable container materials are placed in this cart.
- Mixed Paper Cart: Paper and cardboard should be placed in the appropriate paper recycling cart. Please flatten boxes where possible.
- Flexible plastic bags and packaging: These should not be placed in the blue carts and should instead be taken to the Richmond Recycling Depot.
- Non-packaging glass: Please place this material in the Garbage Cart, rather than the Glass Bottles & Jars Cart.
- Please remove food residue before recycling and do not place recycling inside plastic bags.
If you are unsure where an item belongs, please use the Richmond Recycling app or the City’s Recycling Search tool before disposing of it.
