Just over half the decks were inspected because many people did not clear away
their items. There will be another go-round in mid -October – dates to be
determined.
For those which did get inspected, we cannot put back the wood decking until we
have the report from the engineer as some decks will need remediation soon. We
are expecting to have this report Friday, which means we will schedule putting
deck boards back , looking into next and the following week.
Just over half the decks have been inspected. However, ALL the decks must be to
determine which ones need to be remediated now. the Contingency Reserve
Fund can handle a few at this time. For the rest, you will be put on a schedule for
repair. there will be a special levy for this project and an additional levy to do the
brick work; more information will be in the minutes which will be out soon.
***When you put items back, you cannot put back the kind of heavy, large items
and structures we have seen. Individuals will be notified separately, but the rule is
no more than 40 pounds per square foot. Most of you have far exceeded that
weight. We don’t want your decks to collapse. This means
no canopy structures, fire heaters, large potted trees or large sheds.
These are all non-approved items.
