CARPORT REMINDER

PLEASE KEEP CARPORTS CLEAN

As we are heading into nice weather and a lot of our lives move outdoors, we wanted to remind everyone on the Bylaws regarding carports.

Appearance of strata lots and common property
41. Cleanliness   

(5) A resident must maintain their carport(s) in a clean and tidy condition.   

(6) Any carport that is, in the discretion of the strata council, in an unclean or untidy condition may be cleaned and the cost of such cleaning will be charged to the strata lot owner.   

(7) The only objects acceptable in the NW51 carports besides motor vehicles will be.     

a) One clean plastic storage box that can be closed entirely and locked.     

b) The storage box must be of a size and placement that it permits a clear walkway to safely walk in front of the unit for mail delivery etc. and not cross onto the neighbour ‘s portion of the property,     

c) The storage box must be approved by Council,     

d) A welcome wreath or sign on the front door,     

e) A single non-hanging garden pot not to exceed 2 feet in height and 3 feet in circumference,     

f) A front door mat or matting,     

g) Seasonal decorations (Christmas etc.) may be put up 3 weeks before occasion and left in place 2 weeks after.     

h) A hose caddy     

i) Bicycles     

j) An outdoor seat approved by Council     

k) Baby strollers

Also a reminder that cars need to have insurance if parked on Strata Property. Storage insurance is OK as long as the vehicle is parked in your carport – and you should send a copy of the storage insurance to the property manager.
